Prepare and submit sales tax (VAT) returns in line with Jordan VAT Law No. (16) of 2019 (e.g., VAT on goods, services, and imports). Ensure adherence to tax deadlines (e.g., annual income tax returns by April 30th, VAT filings per the Jordanian Tax Department schedule). Advise on tax-efficient business structures (e.g., Free Zone vs. local entity setups) to optimize liabilities under Jordanian laws. Guide clients on VAT exemptions and zero-rated supplies (e.g., exports, certain medical/educational services). Assist with tax incentives (e.g., Aqaba Special Economic Zone benefits, industry-specific reductions). Represent clients before the Jordanian Income & Sales Tax Department during audits, objections, and appeals. Resolve tax disputes (e.g., transfer pricing adjustments, VAT penalties) through negotiation and legal channels. Manage withholding tax (WHT) obligations on cross-border payments (e.g., royalties, dividends) under Jordan’s tax treaties. Assist foreign investors with tax implications of establishing/expanding operations in Jordan. Implement Jordan-compliant tax software (e.g., ERP integrations for VAT reporting, e-filing via the Jordanian Tax Department portal). Automate sales tax (VAT) calculations for e-commerce, retail, and service providers. Train teams on Jordanian tax updates (e.g., 2024 VAT rate changes, digital tax procedures). Track updates from the Jordanian Tax Department and Ministry of Finance (e.g., VAT rate adjustments, tax amnesty programs). Host client briefings on Jordan-specific tax risks (e.g., VAT on digital services, thin capitalization rules).
